i don't want you to look at me like this again

change

is

inevitable

and yet here she stands
with the same jacket she wore
three years ago and the same
frown she was born with
and the only thing that's
different is that now she
holds my hand

my clamy hand,
i wish i could pull her away from the funhouse mirror
she sees herself in
she doesn't know it's all a game

she crushes up zoloft and takes
it like water,
her eyes are like death
and her hope is always
off

but if i try to turn
it on,
turn her life around
then i might end up
the only one
spinning
