I Don’t Mean to be Cliche

Dear Not So Old Friend,

I can’t write anything else, you’re all I think about.

I mean it’s not sad, I know there’s more to me, but you’re all that I’m about.

Your presence makes me calm and your touch makes me melt.

Your mind drives me with the infatuation,

It’s leading me to your heart and it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt.

I’m connected to you in a higher sense than a loss of purity,

Because what we have has a certain beauty, it’s all still new to me.

It’s crazy how lately I’ve been feeling we’re distant, but that late night talk or random walk,

I feel we’re closer in an instant.

I wonder if it’s real or if I’m just forcing it.

Could I really be willing to give up anything for you?

Are you really worth it?

I know you would do the same for me, it’s all too perfect.

But do you see me in the same light, am I going about this all right?

I just want to be there like you and care like you,

And show you  what I’ve done with life.

I get scared sometimes, is your heart in the same place?

This is more than just rhymes, I don’t want this to be something I can replace.

You  wake me up every morning in love and high spirit,

You are forever my true love, but I arise wondering your intentions.

My day starts with you on my mind.

I must say because of you I stopped trying.

Everyone’s looking for something to live for and satisfy their flesh,

But if only they could see it’s so much more perplex and unidentified context.

It’s said we’re not waiting on our future, we’re making it.

So I wish everyone could experience time at a standstill,

When everything that matters is in front of them and stopped faking it.

I guess I know it’s real when our love is stronger than time,

And I don’t mean to be cliché, but you know I’m not lying.

Whatever through whatever whenever,  it matters never because you’re forever mine.

Love,
    Your Daughter
