I DON’T REALLY KNOW

I DON’T REALLY KNOW

I don’t really know

how it came to be so,

that I was posturing

about a figurine on the wall,

for me, it was an ugly piece on show,

and it didn’t make much sense

and how it came to be historically,

as a masterpiece of this sculptor’s mind,

but then again who am I

to criticize as a layman of the arts on show,

and of a piece of rock with cracks

of where a hammer had struck some blows,

and a chisel had rounded sides

to be significant in the design

of what was before me,

and I still couldn’t figure it out

of what had come from the artist’s head,

to be there on display figuratively,

but then again ain’t life is like that,

in what some would consider being

as a worthwhile contribution to the arts,

as where others would think and say rubbish!

and a total waste of space and time

to be up there on the wall,

but, then again there is a saying,

small things amuse small minds

of which I readily qualify,

and I really don’t know

how it came to be so.
