I Dream Of Myself

I wonder who I really am while I'm dreaming-- maybe that's something that you can relate to. Sometimes I stare forward without a face to call my own, without bodily feelings of the weight over my feet, or of the warmth of my palms. I'd hear people talk without using their mouths, and I'd listen without using my ears. So, in situations like these, I may not know if I am the voice that is speaking. But somehow, when I see people in a dream, I feel the warmth of their shapes-- as if their bodies were some part the same as my own.

I've got a little poem book I've been working on since I was about 17 or 18, and one day I hope to make it into a book. I only add to it occasionally though.

My dreams are definitely kind of dissociative. Actually, dreams with more than a hand shakes worth of bodily contact tend to scare me. I am just afraid of blackouts and timeskips, from my tauma history. I also hear voices, though usually very quietly. They help me read, write, do math, and usually, keep me sane. Since they are much easier to interact with in my dreams, I kind of wanted to capture at the time, how I felt functionally while asleep, because back then, dreams were my last sane refuge.
