I Drown Myself in a Blue Lagoon
I drown myself in a blue lagoon
as white lightning whips a black sky.
A dog somewhere has been led astray,
a child has been left to die.
Stomaches double over with hunger.
Disease ripples through skin.
Faces melt with the pangs of life.
Flesh is stabbed with a million pins
War outside the door burns on.
Lungs fill with ash and bombs.
My hands try to heal the world,
but my fingers are spread to wide,
and all that was good is gone.
I lose my mind as whips brand flesh.
I crumble as I lose my way.
With no white knight to save me,
I think my sadness will swallow me away.
I cried myself to sleep.
A million days, I died.
For five months my stomache grew -
Then one day my blue balloon flied.
His cries I will never hear.
His body I will never hold.
My blue balloon was taken away
from this world that's grown too cold.
Maybe it was for the best,
but the truth I will never know.
I lost the light that fought the dark -
This world loses the meaning of home.
