I feel love
Lovers embrace, kindness and warmth,
I stand alone, in the cold of hate,
people tell me love is sacred,
I stand alone in the dark,
Preachers speak of kindness to all,
I stand alone, kindness berefet from me,
Peers glare and stare when I am with the one I love,
So I stand alone, losing my love to the gospel who regets me,
Queer is not something wrong,
Yet I stand alone,
The closet is cluttered and full of the forgetten,
And yet I stand alone,
I am told that I am not wrong, love is love,
And I stand alone in the midst of love,
Love is for the straight and righteous,
I stand with my brothers and sisters alone,
I will not be alone,
We are here,
We are queer,
love is love and we will love as love is all we want,
we are entitled to love,
and yet I stand alone, loving those I can never be with,
loving those who regect the love they feel,
Hiding among those who tell them to hide,
so I stand alone, feeling the love from within.
