Before I Forget

The ink of your pen rolls swiftly on top of the pale blue lines,

Pausing to concentrate, letting your mind catch up with your hand,

Feeling the cramp in your thumb and the ache in your wrist,

Realizing that hours have passed by,

You've gone through thirty pieces of paper,

Your mind shovels through the piles and piles of words jumbled in your mind,

Not to mention the thousands of emotions that you need to get down on paper,

Before you forget,

Your own handwriting begins to look like a foreign language,

In that scribble are perfect words that you've been trying so hard to put together,

You are reminded of why writing is the most important thing in your life.

You are reminded of why you adore that ache, that cramp, that hurt.
