I Found You
Because I love you,
There is no need to fear saying the wrong thing because you understand who I truly am,
Quirks and all. And so I fall deeper in love with each passing day.
Because your radiant energy draws me in like gravity.
Yet never feeling like captivity because being with you is never a battle,
But moreso a victory. We are complementary.
Because I love you,
I accept you for your past without a sense of hypocrisy.
Because the truth is, life is not a fantasy.
I’ve made mistakes too, but I would never desire
To hide my flaws from you because you inspire me to be vulnerable,
And with you, I am capable.
Because I love you,
I will remind you that you are stronger than you think,
And every time you blink, I will be there to encourage you to grow
So that you always know that I support your passion.
Even when you feel ashen and blue, you have the ability in you.
I’ll admit my faults so that we can be better for each other.
I promise never to smother, but to uncover your goals,
thus unleashing the beautiful chaos that exists within your soul.
Because I love you,
I will choose you every day of my life.
Despite any fight or strife that may occur, that will not mean the end for us
And you have no reason to be nervous because, when you need me, I’ll be there
Because love is not a part-time job, it’s an act of care.
Which may require long hours of walking through that proverbial fire,
But it’s worth it when I get to sit back and admire all that you are.
Because I love you,
I know what you need, and I’ll concede
I want to learn more about you when we’re together
as if we’re tethered forever, and that’s exactly what we shall be
Because when I look in the mirror, that person I love is me.
