As I Grew
As I grew
I wish I knew what it meant to be cool
As I grew I knew for sure that I had learned to be calm
I wish I knew that there was more than just games and fun
As I grew I knew not everything was about me
I wish I knew it was really about everyone else and me
As I grew I knew there was pain and suffering
I wish I knew how to deal with it
As I grew I became wise to see past my eyes
I wish I knew how to do it sooner
As I grew I knew I was not alone
I wish I knew there was a way to help others
As I grew I wanted to help others
I wish I knew how to do so sooner
As I grew I gave to others regardless of my own position
I wish I knew that I could have done more
As I grew I made friends
I wish I knew some are liars
As I grew I befriended a beloved
I wish I knew I could have dated less
As I grew I became a believer in God
I wish someone would have told me the good news sooner
