I guess I didn't see

I guess I didn't see it,

How things were going to be,

I thought that you could love me,

I thought that you could set me free.

I took the time to love you,

I took the time to care,

I guess that that was my mistake,

We both know it wasn't fair,

I gave my heart,

With no exception,

But quickly it seemed,

You lost it in reception,

I don't understand,

I must be confused,

I guess I got caught in your beautiful ruse.

You brought me to laughter,

To smiles, and tears,

You helped me get over my most horrid fears,

But when I looked off,

To avoid showing my face,

I turned back to find only empty space,

I was so quick to love,

You were so quick to leave,

And now I don't know,

I never got to greive...
