I HAD a dream.

I had a dream that There was a coup in America: A King was dethroned as a pink mist fell in Memphis. He was a doctor, fixing not the sick But the sick and tired. He fixed those who were sick and tired of Prejudice, Racism, Close-Mindedness. He climbed to the mountaintop; He planted not a flag of ownership. No, our Doctor, our King planted an idea, A dream: A dream that one day the truths that we hold “to be self-evident: That all men are created equal” would ring throughout the lands. He was a King that touched his people With his words and his inactions. His weapons? His words. Our Doctor was surgical when it came to speeches. Our King’s army was made up of people like you and me; People who sought change during a time of unrest During a time of discontent During a time of imbalance. Our King led us into battle Our King abruptly died for us We avenged him though. We took up his throne as a people And we brought change to the Union. A coup happened in America But it was unsuccessful. Our King prevailed His dreams came true as he was laid to rest. As he was laid to rest though, We awakened as a people.
