I HAD A FATHER

I had a father
Though not known
For the world to celebrate;
But I had a father
Whom I had known,
I won't forget till date.

I had a father
Though was not in great affluence
To be shown around;
But I had a father
Whose life's influence
Was so worthy, so l found.

I had a father
Not opportune to be well lettered
In the four walls of the classroom;
But I had a father
Who loved to see me bettered
And did all, my life to groom.

I had a father
Though not the first among his peers
In the course of life's pursuit;
But I had a father
Who did his best in his years
To be far from being a destitute.

I had a father
Who appeared nothing to you
By your warped imagination;
But I had a father
The world never had a clue
Of my sincere admiration

I had a father
Who traveled away in his prime,
Left his own in endless tears;
But I had a father
Whose memory l cherish all the time
With springs of awesome cheers.
