I had to love me.

*Sings “Love” from SZA Love Galore*

I want that black love.

That Jada, Will you marry me love?

That love where there’s constant butterflies and it hurts to separate

We build one another up, strong enough for NO MAN to break

hung up on these thoughts allowed me to accept anything

i took the hand i was dealt and played the best way i knew how

We were Intertwined at the root, attached at the hip..

3 years and your mouth still speaks the words as they appear in my brain

I LOVE YOU

you love me? Well what about me?

um.. welll... your bangin body for one..

see that taught me he’s not the one. He had to scurry along

with the rest of em’

loving me for my body and not my inner self is intolerable

It was then that I had to learn to love my self.

and that i was valuable.

i had to love me..
