I Had No Doubt

It started all the way back, in the eigth grade, in my favorite class,

I had to write a poem, as an assigment and it was a blast.

No, I couldn't stop there,

It wouldn't be fair.

I found my escape at last.

It took me a while with coming up with ideas to write about, but I learned fast.

The words that I wrote wouldn't stop spilling out,

That was when I realized poetry was for me, I had no doubt.

I loved how my words held some power.

When writing I always felt as tall as a tower.

I don't really have a favorite poet, but if I had to pick,

I'd choose Robert Frost which is kind of a kick.

It's funny you see, we were learning about his poetry back in the eigth grade,

When I realized I wanted to do the same that memory will never fade.

I love how each poem my writing style can change,

My favorite part is I tend to finish a poem with a bang.

Poetry has helped me along the way,

Even to this day.

My love for poetry remains the same,

And my exciment for poetry will never become tame.

Although I may not be the best, but if I touch one life with my poetry than I've made a difference.
