I Hate the Idea of You with Her
You were never really mine
And it has been a long time
I still hope we will cross paths one day
"I don't feel it" you would say
You called me Mei and I called you Bray
This hurts me everyday
What is wrong with me?
And who is she?
I miss you
You have no clue
It was your hair that you would always brush back
This makes me hope maybe someday you will come back
It was your brown eyes
My nights filled with cries
It was your hands interlocked with mine
Oh, I was so blind
I love the freckles on your shoulders
But with you gone it has become colder
I see you hold her
My head begins to stir and my vision starts to blur
We used to sing and dance
I realize you never really gave us a chance
You would hum whenever you were happy
With you gone I've become snappy
Your chest I would lay on, listening to your heart beat faster and faster
I still question, why her?
It was your laugh that I could still hear
Here I go crying, my makeup beginning to smear
It was the way you looked at me
Stop looking at me
I miss that smirk
Ugh, you hurt me so many times you jerk
You like the soda Mountain Dew
How do I remember everything about you?
Your thin, yet soft lips that I would kiss
You do not know how much you are missed
It was that kiss on the cheek at the stoplight
Here I am with this poem I continue to write
I remember our first date
I thought it was fate
You sold your speaker to take me out to eat
Looking back at this, my heart feels beat
You left me for her
Did you forget about what we were?
This was all just a game
Please, I cannot handle this pain
I still think of you
Help, what do I do?
You obviously let go
You do not want me, I know
Why do I still care?
I know you will come back, but don't you dare
I hope it does not last forever
For it was supposed to be us, together
You were always there
Now you leave? I swear . . .
No one will understand
Oh how we met, so unplanned
Somedays I am filled with hate and regret
If I had someone else, you would want me then, I bet
But it will all be okay, you are now apart of my past
As for everyday I still wish we did last . . .
