I hate This No Parent Thang

Yo, I hate this no parent thang

Wanting that mom who aint even there for me

I don’t even know who to really be

Or what type of blood is running through me

I’ve built up so much of this pain

I try and move on and it always ends up the same

You know everybody aint the same

People look at me and think of this perfect frame

People tell me I got a lot going for me

I ain’t never feel no such thang

You know I graduated highschool

You never bothered to show up to

You know I walked that stage looking all around for you

Nowhere to be seen nowhere to be heard

I walked that stage feeling deeply hurt

I made the Dean’s list first semester

Going for social work I feel a little better

Yo, I hate this no parent thang

Knowing I am parentless, I feel so ashamed

Why dont they want me

Am I to blame

Why don’t they care

Is this supposed to be a war game

God please hear my prayer

I want a mother I call on and she actually be there

Or even a father who shows up anywhere and acts like he cares

People wonder, They wonder how

How am I still lonely with everyone I know now

Life is difficult I hope it aint for you

Though some days I don’t even know what to do

Maybe because you never was there

Never there to see me breath this air

Maybe because you never even cared

But you ain’t hurting I swear

You put me through so much

This life just aint fair

You know im your kid right

You know I need a parent in my life

No matter what you put me through

My kids gonna have a father who is there

My kids gonna have a mother who cares

That’s my goal in life

And watch me get there
