I hate the sunset tonight
I hate the sunset tonight
Can't you see?
Theres no more reds and blues and pinks
No more you and me.
But once, we stood there
Just us.
Until the sea washed us apart
Like at once it must.
If you think about it
Theres never been any
Who have stayed together
Longer than eternity
I thought I'd love you forever
And I still do
But there's no more reds and blues and pinks
No more me and you

▾ This Poem's Voice
Your Poem's Voice
Personal heartbreak anchored in concrete sunset imagery, minimal abstraction
Multiple interconnected ideas: loss, memory, eternal transience, compressed delivery
Strongly negative: hate, separation, loss, though tinged with residual love
Declarative force with emotional intensity; controlled but charged delivery
Approximately 16 lines; mid-length lyric poem
Sea metaphor, color symbolism, personification; ornamental but restrained
Pure lyric interior monologue; introspective first-person voice throughout
