I hate you
I hate you.
I hated you for embarrassing me in front of my friends,
I hated you for not letting me go to parties.
I hated you for not letting me hang out late,
I hated you for not being cool.
I hated you because You were so protective,
I hated you because kids would say I wasn’t cool enough.
I hated you for not letting me dress how I wanted to in high School,
the way my friends dressed and I thought it’d be cool.
Now I see the type of women you were raising me to be.
I love you for protecting me,
I love you for teaching me how a true lady is supposed to be.
I love you for over questioning before I go out,
just to make sure that my story adds up each time.
I love you for all the things you’ve done just so I can grow and be prosperous.
I love you mama...
I love you mama.
