I HAVE ATTAINED AN AGE
I HAVE ATTAINED AN AGE
I have attained an age;
You could consider be
Over the hill and counting,
Till the day I stop,
And the day I drop,
But in all of this
I have lived somewhat differently to most,
Where a life of fullness be;
Of many journeys on the sea,
Many days of ups and downs,
And many days of wearing different crowns,
Many periods of dark within,
And many days of victories,
And many days at my post
Of writing prodigiously,
Of stories flowing from my pen
And verses without rhyming then;
When thinking outside the square,
As I careful took on responsibility
Of being in different roles,
Of husband, father, brother, friend,
A patriarch to family,
Hopefully of wise words to impart
And impact from my heart,
So, the younger ones will have taken notice,
And if there is no doubt;
Through all my words I’ve spoken
In many verses, poems and sonnets written,
Of what my life was all about.
