I have a box
I have a box
And in that box
I have a gun
And in that gun
I have one silver exit
Waiting to be taken
Option over intention
Its idleness indefinite
(Why have it at all?)
When misfortune knocks
I sit with the box
And imagine the allure grows
It gives me peace to know
I have the freedom
To walk out on everything
like my grandpa walked out on my dad
like my brother running from home
like the American dream walked out on the middle class
I don't have to exist
That twisted free Will
Makes me warm inside
But I promise
It’s harmless
Just a thought
Burrowed in my brain
Not a fire just a flame
Waiting to be blown out
