I Have A DREAM

I dream of aspiring into a successful person, I dream of helping many people with the talent I hold within, I yearn to prove to my fellow companions that change is possible, that we shouldn't be tied down to the same traditional ways, we have the right to change, to become someone, something. Regardless of legislation, the same people will be discriminated, will be racially profiled, but I have a dream. Longing a change, the Rev. Martin Luther King dictated these words that ultimately led to Civil Rights among many people in the United States. Now it is our turn, our dream. We dream of aspiring to success, to be role models, to be more and to prove stereotypes wrong, to prove we aren't "Pochos," but that it is time to make a change for our people, for our race. The "barrios" we grew up in are a thing of the past, but they aren't to be forgotten for they shall be witnesses to the great changes we have made, without forgetting our roots, our culture. We have a dream that this nation, under God, will find it necessary to give to our people, the education, the rights we deserve. Please, I have fought my way through highs and lows, through constant assaults, and I have never given up dreaming about my education. Please, don't make me quit now, please support the DREAMers, the DREAM, that we all hold within, of creating a better nation for you and for our posterity.
