I have lived in the void
To the girl whose life resides in the empty void:
I've discovered that life
is not predictable enough
for a forecast.
It's partly cloudy with
a chance of rain
and some days it sprinkles
and some days it storms
and some days it's bright
and sunny,
but you learn to keep an umbrella with you
just in case.
I've found that it's easier
to wear rainboots and
dance in the puddles
than it is to avoid
the water altogether.
And when the stars
come down from the sky
with the rain,
you catch them and
put them back in your eyes
where they belong.
Sincerely,
the girl who has lived in the void, too.
