I Have Seen I Have Heard

I have seen I have heard

The lies and the truths

About our world.

One says hate

The other says hope

Whether fleeting or steadfast

Both impact

The way we see each other.

I have seen I have heard

The sighs and the laughs

Of people.

One says hunger, burden, disdain

The other says possibility

Whether to seperate or to unite

Both last

In how we treat each other.

I have seen I have heard

The entitled and the impoverished

Outside their homes.

One says give me

The other says thank you

Whether to take or to endure

Both change

The way the world sees us.
