I have seen love present
I have seen love present in a tiny piece of bread
I have tasted its sweetness upon my tongue
I have sung its praises day by day
For no greater love is shown than that of the Eucharist
I have seen many cry over its power
Over the love they finally realized was there’s
Smelled the power of the incense
Our prayers flying to heaven
To be received by the saints and angels and given to the King
I have smelled the aroma of paint dripping from a cedar porch
Heard the laughter of many jokes told
Over the smell of sweat which stayed for one week
The joys of a homeowner seeing the sight of something new
The stories of how souls found Christ
And witnessing some find Him in the present
Through a sacrament by the name of confession
Where many feared to go before
From stories of friends being murdered
To stories of mistakes made many a time
To choices that changed a family, a school, a soul
To the sound of hash tag crew 3
From the taste of gallons of pop in several days
To the taste of even more in even less time
From bonfire talks and songs of the same
To negotiating a phrase which would affect the soul of many
Taking 5 hours to decide a simple phrase
The smell of fireworks in forested area
To the taste of the powder upon your lips
From the sound of explosions around a small camp fire
I have lived some much but yet so little
Say that I am crazy that I have gone too far
But I say love is the one thing one can’t overdo
One could say I have given up too much of myself
Why I would simply say
“Love consumes in our level of self-surrender”
For why would you not wish to be submerged in love!
Always I shall show others that they are loved
That love is an action, and it matters not our reaction
I shall look upon the Host of Christ and say
So you have loved me so shall I love them.
For in the sounds of an all too common phrase, Agape
In this I hear another sound
The sounds of Rubbing Hands, Snaps, and then a Clap
For God is Good and He is love
