I Have Seen The Rain

On a crisp, cool evening in early fall,

When the leaves started changing and the sky became darker,

Everyone bundled up in their jackets and joined together

Like the soldiers in vietnam.

There were people of all races, religions, and backgrounds that came

In remembrance of those who risked their lives.

There is a wall, but it is not any normal wall.

This Architecture stands tall surrounded by flags,

Dark in color and covered in engravings of each fallen soldier.

Flowers, candles, and much more line the wall as if it were a tomb.

This wall travels to the grief throughout the country,

Like a soldier travels to the conflicts around the world.

Soft Music played in the background,

The noise of crickets started to rumble,

And You could smell the fresh cut grass.

people began to take their seats,

As Powerful Speakers and patriotic Anthems filled the air.

What's a better way to remember the war?

As you hear the stories,

An arrow stabs through your heart,

Making it feel heavy.

Mercy is shown towards all veterans and families attending.

There is tents that are full of brassy colored weapons,

And Starched clothing (especially old boots).

There is Also old war vehicles, planes, and helicopters for show.

This war was a mythical creature,

Like a dragon one would say.

Many lives were taken as the dragon fired away.

It was a regretful war,

Taken nearly 58,000 American lives.

Families lost innocent loved ones,

Children grew up without fathers.

Day by day and night by night,

These soldiers continue to fight.

They risk their lives,

breaking ribs, getting scratches,

And Push their limits,

All for us.

For our freedom, For our country.
