I Hope You're Proud

October 25, 2012

Silent set still as blood oozed from my daddies broken body.

Forcing a bullet into flesh, Elisa blew blows at his back.

And though soul was vacant

you didn't step up as authority.

I was looking for you to hold me. Console me.

Yet as Precious' tears trickled,

rolling hills of face, you embraced her instead.

Maybe it is the generational tie to birth at 16 that intertwine your spirits,

But what about me?

Dont you see my tears trickling, rolling on the hills of my face?

How could you not hear the explosion of my core banging against my ribs.

Connections fading like dead conversations.

Living in hidden humor,

craving your attention.

Empty vibes when I walk your way.

from crayons to college,

4.0s and evolving my knowledge,

Momma, everyone's proud of me, are you?
