I Just Fell in Some Love

I fell in love

It was warm

Pleasant, kind of

It didn’t have a form

Well maybe those deep eyes

They hypnotize

It was like quicksand

You offered me your hand

But you pulled me under

Why, I could only wonder

Love was like water

Learn to swim or falter

I think I drowned

I couldn’t make a sound

I fell in love but it wasn’t a soft landing

I had no understanding

It knocked the wind out of me

No jump on count of three

Once I got out

I had to live without

The warm smile

Your handsome profile

The why don’t you stay awhile

Like stepping out of a warm bath

I was thrown off path

Stumbling in the dark

My heart with an everlasting mark
