I Just Want to Write: The Writer’s Call

Let me tell you what it takes to be a phenomenal writer
What does it take to be a phenomenal writer?
To stand above all others
Aspiring
Wishing
To be that same great thing?

And you must know that a writer

           IS

           A great thing

It takes courage
Many people utter their words into the air
But not all are fearless enough to etch their thoughts into permanent form

To be beheld for all eternity

We'd like to think a man’s thoughts are his own
That they dwell in the cranial abode awaiting release
No
Words’ persons are their own
Yes
Words’ persons are their own
They prowl the earth seeking whom they may indwell
They don’t just seek anyone
Words want one of those

             Great things

             A writer

These beings
These things that convey meaning desire to be had

By one who will keep their timelessness
Timeless
So
It is not merely my yearning
“I just want to write.”
Words have procured the bold willing me

I am chosen to write

And I answer the call
