Before I Knew You
Before I knew you, you were writing my story.
Before I even knew you, you were knitting me in my mother's womb. (Psalm 139)
I was chasing after all the wrong this for most of my life, before I ever knew you.
Before I knew you, I never thought anyone would carry that rugged cross on their shoulders.
I never thought anyone would endure so much pain to set me free, to call me your friend, to call me as your own.
I never knew anyone could rise up from that grave and put death in its place.
Before I knew you, I was dead in my sin; lost, and didn't know where to begin.
I was chasing after all the wrong things for most of my life, before I ever knew you.
Before I knew you, you were making known to me the path and the way of life, even though I couldn't clearly see you working.
Isaiah 43:1-4~"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you O Jacob, he who formed you O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored and I love you, I give men in return for you, people in exchange for your life."
