I Know

I know I shouldn't

I know the rules

I know how things are

how things have been for a while.

but I can't help but say I miss you, truly miss you.

your laughter, the movies we would watch, falling asleep on the phone.

miss the good times shared

the times we cared.

miss the way you held my heart

I'm sure you didn't know it.

I miss the me you made me be.

the you I knew you were

the world was quiet then, silent. Only existing for you and I hope

in turn

your world existed for me too.
I miss you, no matter how pathetic that sounds.

I miss you but it doesn't matter now.
