I Know #BecauseILoveYou

You are pained to see me suffer,

You don't have to shed a tear.

You know that I feel better,

My love, when you are near.

You are quick to make me smile,

And fast to make me laugh.

Even when you're at your worst,

You bring out my greatest half.

My happiness is everything,

And your happiness is too.

And if we have to compromise,

We'll do what we need to do.

I see you smile through your pain,

So that you don't ruin my day.

But I'd rather sit and listen,

To all things you have to say.

And sometimes we'll sit in silence.

Sometimes it's nice to let things be.

But even in the darkest times,

I'll have you here with me.

And I never have to worry,

That you'll be overcome by lust.

And neither do you have to for me,

We have each other's trust.

We've built it, together.

We've built, and loved, and learned.

And we've controlled our urges,

No matter how hot it burned.

And misery loves company.

I'm afraid to be alone!

But you are always in my thoughts,

So I'm never on my own.

But my space is highly valued,

And my wants are respected too.

And just as you have been trusting of me,

Am I trusting of you.

The love is not obsessive,

But kept comforted, alive.

It doesn't have to depend upon

Another heart to survive.

But the heart doesn't have to suffer,

Like it did when it was alone.

And the love does not diminish,

When it is fully grown.

I try. You try.

Sometimes we try to no prevail.

And yet we put each other down,

When we find that we have failed.

Fault? No fault.

Don't find someone to blame.

Don't ask to me whose fault it is,

I won't give you a name.

For our love will be even stronger,

If we both live hand in hand.

If we listen with an open heart,

And patience to understand.

And the love in this society,

Reflects the sun in the sky.

We see it there in the morning,

And we see it is gone by the nigh.

But ours, my dear, is a love,

That continues to grow and grow.

Unlike the pebbles on the surface,

It's the everlasting bedrock below.

You're very kind, my darling,

And my heart can only grow,

Because, my dear, you love me,

I know.
