I Know he Loves Me
Because I love you, he says
That much I know
Why he waits years to do things other men would do in a heartbeat
Why he respects me, not pressures me, goes out of his way for me
Because he loves me
I was used to the pressure, the tears, the pain
That come from the others
Because I love you, they said
They were wrong
He is not
Because he loves me
he holds me as I cry and wipes my tears away
he stays up late just to talk to me
he doesn't ask me to do things I'm not comfortable with
because he loves me
I ask him why I'm worth it, why I'm worth him
Why me?
Because I love you he tells me
as he holds me close to never let go
