I know the reason for

I know the reason for all the hatred.
Cuz I'm an African-American gay chick.
Cuz I don't listen rap.
I listen to rock.
Cuz I want the cheerleader.
Never the jock.
Cuz I am wearing a sweater
That says "Women can do it Better!"
Cuz I'll have to inform my kids of racial bombings.
And that they've left people like me out for rotting.
And there were times women were forced to wear stockings.
Yet, times are new.
All colors get served food.
For homophobia, I can sue.
And a woman does more than tend to a man's shoe.
But in the back of my mind, I'll always know.
No matter how much freedom I get, hatred will always be shown.
