I know what your parents said
In the ghetto there's no time to be sad
Life is short put the smile on be glad
And when I wave to you down the street
I get sad
when i see the things said by your dad
he told you we were nothing but some thugs
Wearing white tees because we couldnt get a job
That we wouldnt amount to shit because were strung
Probably selling dope because were young
And even though my momma was a single mother
that doesnt give an excuse for you to judge her
im just trying to make it out this world alive
but when i walk outside your stare eats me alive
i can pretend to hide and be tough
but you turn around as if im not enough
like im not worthy of your simple smile
not even a wave is worth it for a while
and over time i develop a sadness
coming from you it brings me to madness
and then one day all you see
is an angry mexican in the streets
