I know your true Face

I learned I was no longer a kid when I saw people I thought were friends for who they truly were.

Deceit showed its face to me and laughed me for not looking deeper.

But now I know deceits face

And even though I lost the childlike innocence from my years as a kid, I now have knowledge.

I am able to look deceit in the face and say not today

I am stronger for what it took from me as I would never let it happen again.

Because I am no longer a kid, I am able to make true friends who I can trust

I can navigate life so that I have power over deceit so it will never hurt me again.
