I Licked a Lollipop When I Died
I licked a lollipop when I died-
The stillness in my form
Was like the stillness in the stick-
Between the stickiness of my hands-
The taste should have been sweet- but soured my tongue
And my eyes began to water
For the last onset, my mouth went dry
I witnessed my life passing by.
I willed my keepsakes, sent away
What a shame to give away
Assignable- and it showed
There interposed a lollipop
With swirls-and certain sour taste
Between the flavors was my lying fate
And then everything turned dark-and then
I could taste no more.
