I Lied

Your eyes light the sky  with crystals of blue

Your smile shines and never seizes to stop

A dark lonely world became a memory,

For you are more than words can describe

A butterfly in my heart chest and gut.

Everything slows down like a falling leaf

But after spinning so fast and for so long,

I have grown way too dizzy

When their souls say they would drop everything for you

They regret to give up the precious secrets

It’s easy because I would drop those secrets along with

School, Sports, Commitment, and all the valuables in my life

Drop my whole life for that butterfly that flutters

Connecting my heart and mind

But I have lied…

I lied telling myself I wasn’t enough

I lied and told myself we could only be friends

No more lying…

We are two halves to a whole,

The sun in California,

Aces to a spade

We are the butterfly that wants to keep trying
