I Live

I live not to do my share, I live not to spread my heir. I live not to become affluent, I live not to make my language fluent. I live not to watch the sun rise in the East, Nor to watch it drop in the west. I live not to see stars fly from sky to sky, I live not to expose every lie. I live not to kill for fun, And I live not to fire the largest gun. For I live to see your smiling face, And to lay in your peaceful grace. For I live to kiss your supple lips, And to hold you by your sweet hips. For I live not to sail the ocean blue, But to come back home, and keep my promise true.

This was the poem I wrote promising to someone I love that I will return from a long trip.
