I live for today but

I live for today but not for tomorow

Yesterday I lived for that day and that day alone

I try never to plan shit cause I've already learned life is a bitch

I've learned that love can only hurt if you allow it

I've experienced the hate that one human being can inflict on another

Be it weapons or words it still cuts through thr soul

I've seen my grandmother cry over the loss of her son

See he's not dead but he's in the same category

I've seen my father get sicker with each pill he took

Wish I still wasn't shook

I've heard my parents say keep your friends close and keep your enimes closer

But it's hard to tell who's who anymore

Am I young

That I am

But as a young woman living in the hood

I've seen it all
