I Long For the Outdoors, But I Have Allergies

sometimes i feel so close to the earth

captivated by the beauty around me

the flowers glow, calling for attention

ahh they're vain, pretty things

and the trees stand tall, magnificent and imposing

the birds whiz around, an array of colors

and i wish i could walk barefoot in the grass

feel the earth's subtle heartbeat

through the sturdy soles of my feet

hearing the thump thump thump, i feel free

feel connected the only way i know how

feel apart of something great

feel the life vibrate in the air

the earth truly taught me more

than a textbook or teacher ever could
