As I Look In The Mirror

Boring chocolate brown eyes stare back at me as I look in the mirror.

A timid, shy girl searching for a voice,

A caterpillar desperately trying to morph into a gorgeous butterfly,

An ugly duckling hopelessly waiting to turn into that beautiful swan mother read about countless times.

As years go by, I realize that beauty isn’t about how big your bossom is or if you can shake one butt cheek without shaking the other.

It isn’t about how much makeup you can cake on your face or how many guys blow up your phone, begging to take you out on a date.

Beauty is about how you feel within,

How you carry yourself in a lady-like manner,

And your glowing personality.

It took me years and years to realize.

I may not look as good as the girl next door, who has guys honking at her as she walks down the street.

But I have something she doesn’t, class and inner beauty.

So ladies, don’t ever let ANYONE tell that you not beautiful.

Because beauty comes from within.
