I look at myself and

I look at myself and think

I am a human being

My life is like church bells

My emotions never stop ringing

Sometimes I look at myself and say

I can't change you so I must replace you

I've been in the system since I was five

All I can do is struggle and thrive

I miss my family every day

I look up in the sky and say

I pray to God to get me through another day.

All I have is pictures on my doors

Grab the mop go do your chores

The placement life is hard

But you can't drop your guard

But through all the struggle and pain

My life would not be the same

I am a peice of art

That's how I stand  apart

beautiful poem thanks for sharing. It must be hard being in the system. It is clear you want people to know that they are not alone, and that there are people out there who care about them.
