I Looked in the Mirror

Mon, 06/24/2019 - 17:11 -- CayleeJ

I looked in the mirror.

My eyes were blue,

My hair is blond,

A baby face is all I see;

An innicent child looking back at me.

I looked in the mirror.

There I saw eyes that were bright,

Still filled with light.

Hair that was as bright as the sun,

Now standing a little girl of eight;

A young girl who still believed in stories.

I looked in the mirror.

Looking back was eyes that blazed,

Hair that darkened day by day;

Aquward and guangly in figure,

A funny little girl who was close to a woman

Who knew not who she should become.

I looked in the mirror.

Wisened blue eyes looked back at me,

Hair now so blond it was white.

Could she be beautiful and wise?

I do not know but all I do,

Is that I am no longer a child.

I looked in the mirror.

I am now older and now I know

It is time to grow up.

But that doesn't mean I have to give up!

I can remeber my dreams sourin,

Remeber the wonderful and magical stories.

Although I'm older and more wise,

I can still be kind.
