I Lost Control
They say the memories will fade away like a sunset on the horizon, a beautiful ending to a bad day
I lost control
Sat and picked at the mold on the window sills, looking for a way out
Choked on the pills three times a day
I fought to bring about some emotion
Sedation surrounds me
The way they liked it
Nice and quiet
Comatose patients
Unable to function
Not likely to talk much
If we did talk, all lies hand fed to us by "doctors"
God forbid the public ever knows what actually happens behind these walls
The screaming
The nightmares
Maybe they'll let you go
If they have your meds just right
Just enough to make it unbelievable
Enough to make it inaudible
And if your good maybe they will let you have visitors
Maybe they will let you walk in the sunlight
They might consider you taking in fresh air on a walk
Perhaps the last you would ever have
Maybe the only happiness you will ever feel twinge at your heart again
