I love --

Painted faces

How am I supposed to compete

When nothing erases

The privilege of the elite?

Red hot heels,

Nothing matters more than

The boys you steal

And if you will, or can.

I’m just an ant

Under your magnifying glass.

It feels like I can’t

Even pass you for class.

I may not be size small

Or size six shoes

But I cannot fall --

That is something we choose.

I can speak.

I can listen.

Seemingly meek,

My eyes glisten

I have passion:

For physics, chemistry, biology

I’m not great at fashion.

That was not an apology.

I love to watch the cells grow,

Under false light

It’s like their putting on a show

Trying to get it right.

My GPA is flawless.

My ACT is 34.

My attitude is lawless.

My life is anything but a bore.

I love the way my hips sway,

And my loud laugh, too.

Every night I pray

That you could see it from my view.
