I Love Him, He Loves Me

I saved him he believes,

He was 2 I was 10 and he thinks I saved him

I love him as a mother loves her child

I took the beating so he didn’t.

I called the cops so she wouldn’t.

I am the reason why now a little boy has no father.

Tho I was 10 and he was 2;

He is now 12 and I am now 20.

He tells everyone he meets about me.

Of how I saved him from a bad man.

Of how I grabbed him and covered his ears and eyes and held him.

I took the beating his mum took the beatings.

I took the rest of the beatings away.

Now he is growing up and I am basically grown.

But

He says I want to be just like her.

He sleeps with my old ragged pillow.

He is still terrified of the dark.

He still can’t think when yelling occurs.

I love him he loves me.

I saved him.

I took his last beating.

And I took all the yet to come beatings away.

I love him and he loves me.
