I Love my Bruises

I love my bruises. My Dear, I adore my scars. They are my deepest pride and only joy. These markings upon my body are beautiful truths that say all I have been silenced into remembering. I want for you to reach out and take hold my pain-- grab my scars, graze your hand over my bruises. Can you understand why I've remained silent? They speak so much more than I ever could. I just hope you can listen to their silent plea. That would make you the first.... The first to care, to see and not be repulsed by me. For I am my scars. My scars compose me. They tell my past, and I confess that they shall also tell my future.

I like your poem and how you embraced your scars in a different matter.
