I LOVE MYSELF

I get up in the morning, look into the mirror, smile, and say

I love myself.

I put on my favorite dress and let my hair down on my

Shoulders.

I walk into school and bump into someone, they reply by

Saying, “Lose some weight and stop blocking the hallway, ”.

I walk away and whisper,as quiet as a mouse, I

Love Myself.

At the end of the day, I walk out of the school and

There is a group of girls waiting for me with snide remarks.

They tell me, “Try makeup or a paper bag, your

Clothes are hideous.”  I say, “Why does it matter,” and walk away.

They say sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will

Never hurt me.

I beg to differ, words hurt more than my pain of the cuts

On my wrists.

I sit on my bedroom floor watching blood gush out of

My arm.

I stand up, wipe my tears, and say into the mirror, to a girl

I once knew, that I loved myself one last time before everything turns black.
