I Love You

Dear Childhood Crush,

What if I told you I loved you?
Would that be strange?
What if you're the one I want to be with,
Would I sound deranged?

Maybe I am
To love someone I don't know
To dream of a life that could be
But wait, let's take this slow

Let's start at five
Life was utter bliss
You kissed me on my check
But who would of thought, it would end like this

Then came eight
Or was it nine
You left me
And I thought I was fine

But then came twelve
And I definitely wasn't okay
There you were; in front of me
But I couldn't get your love to stay

Then there's now,
Realizing how far we've grown
Into different lives.
I would have never known

My love wouldn't subside.
But who knows love as a babe
Who knew hearts cared
Even through this long escapade

I didn't
But apparently, they do
So here I am
Saying I love you

Love,
Kella
