I Love You

I love you..

an 8 letter phrase with a complex meaning

these three simple words can make or break a person

no one wants to be the first to say it somehow, it ends up being said

no matter who says it, it is so delicate

these three simple words should not be used lightly and yet,

people throw it around as if it's apart of some game

to someone who says it without meaning, it's not a big deal

to another person, it's meaning is priceless

see love, it can hurt people

the strongest love is usually spent on people who aren't worthy, which screws with people's perception.

you said you loved me and yet,

you got a girlfriend, someone I knew, and it tore me to pieces

when I needed you the most you were nowhere to be found

I was left, by myself, to pick up the broken pieces, but it was love

you used me as some toy you could throw around

you made me feel special when all I was, was a filler

I filled the empty space until you found someone better

can I blame you? not really

you never loved me

you used me to make you feel better about yourself

you knew how much I loved you

you knew the three simple words I said to you meant a lot to me and the satisfaction of you knowing I was wrapped around your finger made you feel special

you made me feel special,

I was just caught in the web of lies that surrounded the three simple words: I love you

and when you and your girlfriend broke up

you gave me attention

you made me feel as though it would never happen again,

as though it was a mistake

you said you didn't know what happened but it would never happen again

never. again.

and yet, I'm still here. Trying to make shards fit together in the wrong places, but it would never happen again

but you loved me

this hurt, makes me feel as though I amount to nothing.

The hurt that I'm left to fix by myself because you've moved on.
